Inle Lake in Eastern Myanmar lies between soaring mountains. It is, itself, almost 3 thousand feet above sea level. Floating island support villages and colorful markets. The best floating market is found every five days at Ywama. The festival of Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda is celebrated throughout October.Kyaikhtio Pagoda, Myanmar's largest, stands on a gilded boulder in a scenic area about 100 miles from Yangon. Climbing up the hill is a test of endurance but there is a belief that a person gains in wealth everytime he does it.
