The Mekong DeltaThe Mekong Delta covers an area of about 25 thousand square miles. It is where the river crosses the border from Cambodia, splits into many tributaries known as Cuu Long or the Nine Dragons and nourishes great ricefields before ending its journey in the South China Sea.
The essence of the Mekong Delta is farm and village life, the roads are narrow and winding and most of the rivers must be crossed by ferry.
